The Marquette-Alger Technical Middle College program seeks to recruit students

MARQUETTE COUNTY AND ALGIERS COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) – The Marquette-Algiers Technical College program is looking to recruit students.

The MATMC allows students to take university courses from the 11th year. It is aimed at those interested in a five-year degree in health sciences, welding, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, automotive or building technology.

Meagan Staton, survey readiness coordinator at Marquette-Alger Technical Middle College, says the program can improve Upper Michigan’s workforce. “One of the reasons we formed the college and part of what makes our college special is that we only support degrees that are in demand in our area,” Staton said. “All of our students pursue studies that currently meet the needs of the labor market.”

MATMC is hosting in-person information sessions on Thursday, February 14 and Wednesday, March 2 at 321 E Ohio St, Marquette, MI 49855. A Zoom link to virtually join either meeting can be found here. Event information is also displayed on the Marquette-Algiers Technical College Facebook page.

You can also visit MATMC website for more information about the program.
