The Disney College program is officially back at Walt Disney World for a full year

It’s amazing that it’s officially been a year (and a day) since the first batch of Disney College program participants were welcomed to Walt Disney World. On June 15, 2021, students from all over were excited to be part of this program again. Disney Parks Blog shared more.

What is happening:

  • A month prior, on May 3, 2021, Disney had shared an announcement that this program was returning. Thousands of applications have been received for the Disney Summer/Fall 2021 College Program.
  • Those whose program was canceled in March 2020 were the first to have the opportunity to submit a return request.

  • When it was announced, an Instagram post even read, “I’m literally in tears. I’m so happy to have another chance.”
  • Other comments from students were: “As soon as I heard the Disney programs were reopening, I applied immediately. I told everyone about it,” said Sam Medina, a member of the cast of attractions that arrived on its schedule last June. “Coming in, being one of the first groups, I feel like everyone was so excited.”
  • “I can’t believe it’s gone so fast,” says Mikey Lujan, another participant who was among the first to arrive in June 2021. “It feels like 10 years will pass and I’m ‘ll still remember my first day here.”
  • Disney looks forward to celebrating many other program milestones, including the return of Cultural Representative Program participants who will return to Walt Disney World this summer.

  • “The program has come back bigger and better than ever,” Mikey said. “And we got to be a part of that, which was so amazing. I’m really grateful for that.”
