JOB DESCRIPTION: The Santa Cruz County Volunteer Center is a dynamic, mission- and values-driven agency, engaging over 20,000 local people a year to connect for good in our community. Under the supervision of the Empowered Aging Division Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, coordinating and supervising volunteers. oversee database management, donor files and compilation of statistics for the division.


  • Coordinates the development and implementation of program services for the Division of Independent Aging to achieve program outcome goals and facilitate independence for program participants.
  • Supervise volunteers and interns
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of program material resources, such as falls prevention activities and training manuals, programs and manuals.
  • Increases AmeriCorps Seniors/Monterey Bay RSVP attendance and awareness as well as volunteer and station registration in alignment with goals.
  • Develops relationships with key organizations and volunteers in the tri-county area.
  • Assists with program review, evaluation and development activities, including soliciting feedback from program staff, participants, referral sources and stakeholders.
  • Assist with fundraising through direct mail and online campaigns
  • Provide accurate reports on program activities as required by funders, provide statistical reports as required.
  • Designs and prepares recruitment materials, flyers and posters.
  • Delivers volunteer recruitment talks in person and via videoconference at service clubs, seniors centers and other relevant sites.
  • Travels to various volunteer sites to collaborate with non-profit organizations and increase volunteer engagement.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of experience in programs of a similar nature, OR four years of relevant experience including one year in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in coordinating programs and supervising staff.
  • Two years of experience with the elderly.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.

  • The starting salary is $22.48 to $24.09 per hour.
  • This is a full time / 40 hour per week position.
