Apply now for the Kids and College Summer Program at MCC

Keep your kids entertained and learning this summer with the Kids and College program at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake.

The program offers a variety of quality and affordable courses for students in grades one through nine. Campers will have the chance to engage and explore with innovative learning skills that will expand their knowledge in many areas. All summer 2022 classes will be held in person at the college.

New classes start every week from June 13 to July 25. Most courses are available in one-week sessions, Monday through Thursday, or three-day sessions, Tuesday through Thursday. Participants can choose between morning classes (9am-12pm), afternoon classes (1pm-4pm) or both. If both are chosen, a supervised lunch period is provided from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Summer 2022 courses are available in astronomy, writing, street painting, filmmaking, crime scene investigation, rocket science and aviation, game design, welding, and more.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kids and College back in person for the first time since 2019,” said Tressman Goode, Personal Development Programs Coordinator at MCC. “We offer a variety of courses that will help campers learn new skills for future career opportunities. Our instructors and camp counselors look forward to interacting with campers face-to-face and seeing them excel in their courses. And MCC’s mascot, Roary, is delighted to greet them too!”

Students will be placed in their appropriate grade level groups of 20-25 campers to ensure they receive personal attention from teachers. Classes are taught by exceptional teachers, MCC professors and camp counselors who will engage campers with their passion and enthusiasm.
